AppleCare Digital YouTube by Adrian Galli

For nearly the past year I have been working on a special project at Apple creating and editing our videos supporting our customers with their Apple products. The team has been great and our content has been spectacular. It has been an amazing experience working on these shorts, especially on Apple Watch and introducing further the Ocean band as shown with Apple Watch Ultra.

One of my personal goals, and Apple’s, is to enrich peoples’ live through our products and empowering them to do more with their devices than when they first got it out of the box.

Technology is complex but that does not mean it should be complicated. These films are to give customers a little help, a little guidance, and a bit of ‘wow’ in their every day use of their Apple devices.

Check out all our videos on YouTube and catch some of tips and tricks on Twitter!

Annual iPhone Photowalk — iPhone 14 Pro by Adrian Galli

With the arrival of iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro, one of the hardware features always in the spotlight is the camera array. It is no secret I enjoy a good morning photowalk and also love to test out new gear—find its highlights and its challenges.

It has been exciting to put the new 48 megapixel main camera to the test and see how far ProRaw can go. The images shared have all been made more internet connection-friendly but hopefully the images and impressive nature of the main camera speak for themselves.

Please enjoy a few photos from the best photography time of year in Chicago, October!

Garmin Instinct 2 Solar — Solar Powered Smartwatch by Adrian Galli

I’m fascinated by wearable technology and no stranger to it. I’ve worn my Apple Watch every day since I received mine on April 28th, 2015.

The power and future of wearables is luminous and we are only seeing the beginning.

This new smartwatch from Garmin is very interesting. A solar powered watch with health and fitness tracking, GPS, and more.

Gone are the days of charging your smartwatch every night or few days thanks to “power glass” which uses the sun to charge the device.

However, for all the fitness and health features of the Instinct 2, the specifications suggest it needs 3 hours a day in direct sunlight—that is an unhealthy amount of time for you to be in the sun.

While you could reapply sunscreen over and over, this is time in the sun to keep the Instinct 2 operating is an interesting dichotomy of the device. Health and fitness while possibly negatively impacting your health and fitness.

I suppose this Solar power sharing feature isn’t to replace “traditional” charging but to supplement it—my observation isn’t a criticism so much as it is to add context to the device’s crowning feature.
