The Finance Project
I may not be Bezos (though, I can operate a mute button) but I do love personal finance. It is somewhat a game for me and some ask me how I do it, what I do with the stock market, and more. There are some of my favorite things when it comes to financial exploration.
Banking
SoFi is a company I’ve done business with since 2015. They weren’t a bank but an online financial company mainly catering to student loans. More recently, they have patterned with banks and become a bank themselves. With a 1.00APY on checking accounts, 2% cash back credit cards, very competive interest rates on loans, stock trading, and a brilliant mobile app and website, I not only have my primary banking with them but also own stock (SoFi) and use their app for trading. Highly recommended.
Credit Cards
Credit Cards are a passion of mine. Some say ‘weird’ but using them properly, one can not only make some profit on them and take control of spending but also make your purchasing more secure and protect your investments. Use them like debit cards; pay them off every month and reap the benefits.
These are two cards I carry with me every day.
The Platinum Card by American Express
It has a hefty annual fee but it is easy to recoup and even come out ahead. Use your credits, get your points, make full use of all the benefits. Don’t leave home without it.™
Apple Card
This isn’t as popular with the serious credit card gurus but still one of my favorites—it is just a simple, no surprises, good credit card. Beautiful, easy to use, very secure, good cash back, no fees.
Other Financial Interests
While I love to keep things simple, I always recommend that you get the service, card, or financial plan that is right for you. Many of these products and services have supported my needs for years.
