Macro Photowalk by Adrian Galli

Enjoying the second day of summer, the heat has dissipated a bit and it was a beautiful evening to take a short walk after work. They say, “Stop and smell the roses.” I say, “Stop and take some photos.”

Wide angle macro photography is very challenging but some of my favorite work. Whether with iPhone 13 Pro or my Laowa 15mm Macro, the peculiarity and brilliant perspective of wide macro always catches the eye.

Nature Walk in the Heat by Adrian Galli

Much of the USA has been hit with a height heat warning and Chicago got some pretty steamy conditions. The high today, 36° C (96° F), and with it mostly clear, it was even hotter in the sun. But I love the heat and took to a nature walk. Just enjoying the local flora and fauna—with a little iPhone 13 Pro macro photography included.

I have more cameras than I can count but the old adage “the best camera is the one you have with you” is the reason I upgrade my iPhone yearly. And every year, I take a photo walk, a pilgrimage if you will, to put the camera to the test.

With the new ultra wide + macro lens on iPhone 13 Pro, this year was a little more exciting than usual as anyone who knows me knows I love wide angle photography especially the challenging ultra wide macro photography.

I’ve frequently compared iPhone photography to shooting with my Laowa 15mm Macro and this year it is more true than ever.
