Cartagena de Indias — Detalles by Adrian Galli

Flowers, Cartagena, 2024

Some of the smallest details, the most mundane, are my favorite things to photograph. They might be out in the open, walked by a thousand times, or hidden, found in places many of us and our eyes never gaze upon. But all of these things have their own beauty and as I have said many times, a photographer, or cinematographer, is there to see that which others don’t and to share it.

Cartagena de Indias — Arquitectura by Adrian Galli

Early in my photography journey, architecture stood out as one of my favorite subjects to capture. Regardless of my travels, I always find remarkable structures that deserve the timelessness of a photograph to preserve their essence.

Cartagena was no exception. The Centro exudes an “old world” Spanish charm that perfectly reflects its time period and origins. On the other hand, Barrio Bocagrande infuses Miami Beach with a Latin American flair, particularly captivating with its white buildings, blue glass, and the stunning contrast against a blue sky.

Isla Tierra Bomba by Adrian Galli

Navigator, Cartagena de Indias, 2024

A tranquil yet vibrant island lays off the coast of Cartagena de Indias. A day trip to Tierra Bomba barely seemed like enough time to get to know the island dwellers and the unabashedly tropical island vibes. A Caribbean beach, island cocktails, grilled fish and plantain rice bowls, and a brilliant DJ, time slowed, and it was lovely.

From the mainland, we took a boat out to the island. Away from shore and around a point, Amare Beach Club came into view. There we would spend the day in the hot sun, warm water, and the shade and breeze to keep us cool.
