January — A Year in Photographs — Curiosities by Adrian Galli

Bubbles — Day 6

A Year in Photographs is a massive undertaking. Every day is a creative endeavor. Some days are brilliant and some are a struggle but it is a powerful exercise in creativity, discipline, and observation.

In 2017, #AYearinPhotographs started merely with black and white photography. No specific subject—a good way to ease into the journey ahead. The theme is a guide for the creativity both focusing and challenging the process.

To ease into this year of photography, it started with ‘curiosity’—anything that was unique, flashy, or interesting in my eye.

When inspiration strikes, take the shot. Don’t hesitate even a moment, for a few steps down the street, later that day, or even ages later, you’ll regret not knowing what could have been.

Italy 2023 — Color by Adrian Galli

Continuing the journey through Italy, Lucca, Pisa, Firenze, are some places I ventured. And, while black and white photography is usually a favorite, some images are best in color.

Italy 2023 — Black and White by Adrian Galli

What better place to start off one’s new year than Italy, with family, food, and a bottle of Franciacorta?

Covid made many of our travel plans challenging—I was to visit my father in 2020, 2021, and then again in 2022 but things were either complicated or difficult. I wanted to start off the new year with both #AYearinPhotographs and seeing my dad—and a much needed vacation.

Please enjoy these black and white photos of brilliant people of Italy, and the architecture that make the country famous around the world.
